description Himerometridae with enlarged proximal pinnules stouter and somewhat longer than those following, but not especially distinguished; proximal segments slightly carinate, if at all; distal segments distally smooth or with fine spines. Arms 10 (rarely more); middle and distal brachials very short with parallel or almost parallel ends; cirri of moderate length; all cirrals or at least distal cirrals broader than long; distal cirrals with conspicuous aboral spine or tubercle.
