Eucheilota maculata

Colonies were found in the marina of Zeebruge in July and August. Medusa are present between the third week of June and half September along the coast and in the outer harbour and absent (except once) in the inner harbour and the waterway to Bruges. De Blauwe (2004) discusses the variability of the medusa and argues that Eucheilota flevensis Van Kampen, 1922 and Eucheilota maculata Hartlaub, 1894 are the same variable species.
