Spelling Comment on the spelling of coeca in Maupasia coeca. Under ICZN article 58 coeca and caeca are deemed identical. Viguier used coeca. Dales & Peter (1972:61): "Viguier (1886) used oe in spelling, although ae (Lat. 'blind ') is perhaps more correct. Subsequent authors (and printers) have used both spellings somewhat inconsistently ..." [details]
