Description Found over seagrass beds, and sand and rubble areas of lagoons and reefs. Feeds on molluscs, crustaceans, and echinoderms. In Palau, it is known to spawn at the outer reef edge on the first five days of the lunar month, from November through April (Ref. 2295). Also caught with beach seines and handlines and is marketed fresh (Ref. 9775). [details]
Remark Listed in <144> as Lethrinus aurolineatus nov. sp., but recalled in an erratum distributed with the issue of the periodical. The erratum slip is probably not valid for the Code of Zoological Nomenclature, so technically Fourmanoir has described a speceis there. However, the name L. aurolineatus was already used by Macleay in 1883, for a species placed now in synonymy with L. nebulosus (Forsskål 1775). [details]
