From editor or global species database
Nomenclature This species was originally described as an echinoderm, Holothuria (Thyone) eaouari Lesson, 1830 (BHL Link: https://biodiversitylibrary.org/page/28724606). Later Jaeger (1833) transferred it to the echiuran genus Ochetostoma. When Oken (1834) reviewed Lesson's (1830) work, he also assumed this species to be a Thalassema. All the subsequent echiuran researchers have missed the Jaeger's and Oken's work, and Diesing (1851) proposed an unjustified replacement name for this species, Ochestomum lessoni, then it was transferred to Thalassema by himself in 1859.
