Taxonomy Rzhavsky et al (2014: 121) discuss extensively Pileolaria berkeleyana (Rioja, 1942) and its purported synonyms, and the various misidentifications that are other species, and state "the group [of synonyms] may either be a single morphologically variable species or a complex of valid species.
