Editor's comment Although Weisbord (1964) placed Serpulorbis birugosus Weisbord, 1962 tentatively in the synonymy of H. bispinosus, at least 9 species of Hydroides from shallow Caribbean localities may show a tube with two longitudinal keels (see Bastida-Zavala & ten Hove 2002); the synonymy should be confirmed by comparison of actual material.
