Synonymy Uriz (2002) attempted to distinguish Tribrachium schmidtii and Kapnesolenia fisheri by using morphological and ecological arguments. These were found to be unsubstantiated by Van Soest (2017, pp. 81-84). Uriz also erroneously selected a neotype for Tribrachium schmidtii, while the holotype is still extant in the Strassbourg Museum. This neotype designation is thus void. Van Soest proposed to synonymize Kapnesolenia fisheri with Tribrachium schmidtii. [details]
