Taxonomy Van Soest & Rützler (2002) erroneously assigned the unused name Labaria Gray (with type species Labaria hemisphaerica) to Cinachyrella; they were unaware of Carter's (1873) redescription of Gray's specimen, which clearly demonstrated it was a hexactinellid, not a tetillid. [details]
