Classification Only one specimen of T. hebes is known. It has a single lateral oscule and no apparent porocalices (as in a Tetilla) but its spicule repoertoire is quite similar to that in Cinachyrella australiensis. We consider its genus status uncertain, Tetillidae incertae sedis, at the moment and we follow van Soest & Rützler (2002) in keeping it as a valid species and in the genus Tetilla for the moment.
