Identification Vosmaer & Pekelharing (1898) used the present combination for a generalized Mycale species to which various Western European species were assigned. It is likely that the material on which the authors made their observations belonged to Mycale (Carmia) micracanthoxea Buizer & Van Soest, 1977, the only species occurring at the time in the Netherlands.  [details]
