Taxonomic remark Gelliodes fibrosa (Wilson, 1925) from North Sulawesi (not the Philippines) is a junior secondary homonym of Gelliodes fibrosa Dendy, 1905 from the Gulf of Mannar. However, the material additionally assigned under the new name Gelliodes wilsoni by Carballo et al., 2013 from Acapulco, la Paz, Kaneohe Atoll and Palmyra Atoll is very different from the material of Wilson (see image of co-type). It is important to realize that in case of a new name because of junior homonymy the type material remains the same as the original material, in this case Wilson's Indonesian material. In view of the considerable differences with the type material, Carballo et al.'s material may not be conspecific with G.wilsoni. [details]
