Microcotyle rubrum n.sp is described here from the gills of Otolithus ruber of Karachi coast. The new species is characterized by lanceolate body, pharynx is oval to elongate, genital atrium is tubular and fork-like, testes are 56 in number scattered in middle region, ovary is long and tubular, vagina is invisible, haptor is hatched-shaped. Clamps are microcotyle type. Parasite on gills of marine fish.
