Nannocalanus minor f. minor and Nannocalanus minor f. major (Sewell, 1929) from the northern Indian Ocean were reinvestigated. Differences in the structure of their genital segment and mouthparts between N. minor f. minor, N.m.f. major and N. minor (Claus, 1863) females were revealed. In males, no morphologic differences were found in the structure of body, mouthparts, and swimming legs. Nevertheless, the comparative morphological analysis of the females from the northern Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea showed that three species - N. minor (Claus 1863), N. major Sewell 1929, and N. sewelli Kazus sp. n. - were clearly distinguished.
