A total of 17 common polychaetes found off Mactan Island, Cebu are described here. Line drawings and electron micrographs of the head region, parapodia and bristles, which are important diagnostic characteristics, are presented. In the Philippines, studies on these animals are few. The present article is the first contribution dealing with the polychaete fauna of Cebu.
