Description Massive cerioid-thamnasterioid corallum with polygonal corallites No visible epitheca. Intercalicinal increase. Radial elements are compact free or anastomosed biseptal sheets bent upon the wall. Septa attenuated. Distal edge with equal regular teeth, inner edge with regular teeth, lateral faces with acute granules probably aligned in steeply inclined carinae. A crown of pali more or less regularly expressed according to corallites. Microstructure unknown. Hexameral symmetry well expressed, weak bilateral symmetry characterised by elongation of the columella . Endotheca not visible , columella styliform to sublamellar, synapticulae probably absent, wall not high enough to be visible everywhere, sometimes in zigzag, nature unknown. [details]

Status In the same publication, Alloiteau (1958) used different spellings for the genus name: Allocaeniopsis (p. 11) and Allocœniopsis (p. 12) and Allocoeniopsis (pl. 12). As an incorrect transliteration or Latinization cannot be considered for a name to be corrected (ICZN art. 32.5.1), we must follow the First Revisor, Fischer (1969: 53) who used Allocoeniopsis and not Allocaeniopsis which is considered unavailable. See Lathuilière, Charbonnier and Pacaud (2017) for more details. [details]
