Upper Campanian and Maestrichtian Atlantic Coastal Plain sediments of New Jersey contain abundant delicately preserved planktonic foraminifera, and well-preserved late Campanian planktonic foraminifera have been recognized from Delaware Coastal Plain sediments. Twenty-eight species of planktonic foraminifera have been identified from the New Jersey and Delaware samples. One new species of Hedbergella is described and illustrated. Apparently the Maestrichtian Boreal planktonic foraminiferal faunas differed somewhat from those of the Tethys.
