Doliolina Schellwien, 1902 (a foraminifer), is preoccupied by Doliolina Borgert, 1894 (a tunicate). Because of complications in the interpretation of the foraminiferal genus as originally proposed and subsequently interpreted, a new genus (Misellina: type Doliolina ovalis Deprat) is here suggested rather than a simple renaming of the homonym. Brevaxina (type: Doliolina compressa Deprat) is proposed as a new subgenus of Misellina. A synopsis of the subfamily Verbeekininae (family Fusulinidae) summarizes the arrangement of these Permian fusulinid Foraminifera.
