The materials dealt with in the present paper were collected by the author in 1979 from the Lower Yaoyunling Formation of the Aikuanian Stage of the Lower Carboniferous in the Yongfu County of N. Guangxi. The foraminifer Palaeospiroplectammina tchernyshinensis-Pal. gloriosa assemblage-bearing bed yields 11 species (including 2 new species) in 7 genera, namely, Vicinesphaera squalida Antropov, Bisphaera maleukensis Bir., Septatournayella pseudocamerata Lip., Tournayellina beata (Malakh.), Plectogyra latispiralis forma minima (Lip.), Pl. parakosvensis (Lip.), Palaeospiroplectammina tchernyshinensis (Lip.), Pal. gloriosa(Grozd, et Lebed. ), Pal. cf. nana (Lip.) ,pal. yongfuensis Wang sp. nov. and Pal. orientalis Wang sp. nov., among which Palaeospiroplectammina tchernyshinensis(Lip.), Pal. nana (Lip.) and Plectogyra parakosvensis (Lip.) were originally reported from the Cherepetin Formation of the Moscow Basin and Russian Platform. According to its faunal characters, the Yaoyunling Formation of N. Guangxi can be directly correlated with the Cherepetin Formation of the Upper Tournaisian in the Moscow Basin and Russian Platform as well as with Zone Tn3 in the Dinantian Basin of Belgium.
