Taxonomic remark REMANEICELLA Brönnimann, Zaninetti, & Whittaker, 1983.
Ts. Remaneica gonzalezi Seiglie, 1964. Loeblich & Tappan, (1987), claimed this genus to be the jr. obj. syn. of Septotrochammina Zheng, 1979, based on subjective observations, and submitted a proposal to the ICZN to recognize Remaneica gonzalezi Seiglie, 1964, as the nominal species for Septotrochammina Zheng, 1979. Conversely, Kaminski, in Bubik & Kaminski, (2004), tentatively regarded Septotrochammina Zheng, 1979, as a synonym of Remaneicella Brönnimann, Zaninetti, & Whittaker, 1983. Banner (1979) and Brönnnimann & Whittaker (1990) advanced that as Septotrochammina effectively has no valid type species that it should be treated as a synonym of Remaineica - and that action is followed here.  [details]
