Taxonomy The genus Lichenopora was described from Cretaceous material. Another species has been described from the Miocene of New Zealand. Many Recent species have been referred to this genus, but most are not related closely. Many are now coinsidered to belong to Patinella, but many more have not been revised recently. The Recent occurrence of Lichenopora is doubtful. [details]
