Nomenclature Lieberkühn and Czerniavsky refer to Ellis & Solander's Spongia palmata, but this is Isodictya palmata of the North Atlantic, which is not known to occur in the Mediterranean. Schmidt (1862) referred Lieberkühn's palmata to his Reniera p[almata, currently Haliclona palmata. [details]
