Homonymy Cuartas (1986c) discovered belatedly that her new combination Reniera pedunculata Cuartas, 1986a was already used by Vacelet & Arnaud, 1972 for Pachychalina pedunculata Ridley & Dendy, 1886. This caused the combination to be a junior secondary homonym of Reniera pedunculata, which needed a change of species name. Cuartas (1986c) reassigned her material to the previously described Reniera pedicelata Cuartas, 1985. This probably contravenes the ICZN rules for homonymy, but since the name is effectively made unacceptable until eventual changes the junior synonymy of Reniera pedunculata sensu Cuartas can be maintained.
