Type material The BMNH specimen website mentions 5 specimens collected by the Challenger Exped., two of which were given a BMNH reg. nr., 1887.5.2.27 and 1887.5.2.53. Ridley & Dendy (1887) mention two 'good' specimens and four fragments. Hooper (2002) named BMNH 1887.5.2.53 as the 'holotype' without discussing the other specimens. This may be interpreted as indicating a lectotype, but confirmation is necessary. [details]
