Comparison Connectastrea was confused with Amphiastrea (Vaughan and Wells 1943) probably because the rejunenescence process provides structures looking like a marginarium but the thecal septal and columellar structures are completely different. In Amphiastrea each corallite has its own epitheca, septa are not dentate and there is a columellar septum. [details]Description Massive cerioid corallum with polygonal shallow corallites.
