Taxonomy Kieschnick (1896) recorded this species from Ternate, Indonesia, as a new variety, but failed to give a name. Thiele (1903) in his redescription of Kieschnicks material, did not find the specimen, and it is no longer extant in ZMB, so in all probability we will never know what this Kieschnick record really represents.
