Taxonomy The most recent taxonomic treatment of H. Adams species, by Smythe (1979), recognized it as a valid and designated a lectotype. She stated (p. 94) “As no animal has been available for study it has not been possible to establish the correct genus for this species.”

She cited it as "Tornatina" inconspicua, the equivalent in WoRMS would be incertae sedis in Acteocinidae. [details]
