Type locality Cheval Paar (= Cheval Bank), Gulf of Mannar, Sri Lanka western coast, approx area of geolocation 8.6667 N, 79.7667 E. The Hartman catalogue (1959: 321) listed the type locality as "Gulf of Mannar, India" but, as Hutchings et al 2020) point out, the Gulf of Mannar is in Sri Lankan waters, albeit it may be considered as in the waters of greater India. [details]
