Nomenclature One of the varieties microstella or megastella is the typical variety and needs to be named multistella. Van Soest et al. (2020: 40) proposed the variety microstella as the typical variety, thus removing the senior primary homonymy of this variety with its junior homonymy Timea microstella Sarà, 1990. Since both varieties are considered junior synonyms of Tethya multistella this homonymy has been removedhas. [details]
