Status Daris et al. (2016) distinguished two morphotypes which they named Cynarina lacrymalis and Acanthophyllia deshayesiana but they did not include type material in their study. Therefore it is unclear how they identified both morphotypes. The holotype of A. deshayesiana is illustrated by Veron & Pichon (1980; p. 242). [details]
