Diagnosis Original diagnosis by Banse (1980: 21): "A member of the Terebellidae with pronounced lateral lappets and ventral shields. With 3 pairs of arborescent gills from segment 3. Notosetae smooth, from segment 4, on 17 segments. Long-handled uncini from segment 5; uncini in double rows from segment 11. With 3 pairs of posterior neohridia."
