Taxonomic remark Carinogammaridae Tachteew, 2001, as initially established and as retained by Takhteev et al. (2015), comprised the genera Carinogammarus (incl. Eucarinogammarus), Echiuropus (incl. Asprogammarus, Aspretus, Smaragdogammarus), Gmelinoides and Pseudomicruropus. Kamaltynov (2001) recognized it as subfamily Carinogammarinae of Acanthogammaridae, excluding Eucarinogammarus and Gmelinoides, but including Eremogammarus. Kamaltynov (2009) restored Carinogammaridae as a family, but as a monotypic one of the single species Carinogammarus cinnamomeus.  [details]
