In the Proceedings of the Royal Society Vol. 84, 1911, p. 195 I described a genus under the name Ceratopora. I find that this generic name is preoccupied having been used by Grab au for a genus of fossil corals in Proc. Boston Soc. Nat. History Vol. 28. I propose, therefore to change the generic name of the specimen found in deep water off Cuba to Ceratoporella and the family name to Ceratoporellidae.
