Styracaster longispinus sp. n. is described from collections made during expeditions of the research vessel Vityaz in the northern part of the Pacific Ocean between 38 and 46' North at depths of 4995 down to 6328 m; seventy-two specimens of the new species were found in 11 localities. Variability of long-armed species in the genus Styrcaster is discussed. Differences of the new species form other members of the genus are shown. Data about new findings of three known earlier long-armed species of the genus made by Soviet expeditions are presented.
