This work summarizes investigations on Polychaeta of the Red Sea performed between 1962 to 1968. Together with the description of a new species, Leptonereis davidi, the taxonomic position of 112 species is given, with emphasis on their ecological and zoogeographical distribution, especially as concerns the migration of the Indo-Pacific and Mediterranean species through the Suez Canal.
