Systematics of three families of polychaetes collected in the neritic area of Punta del Este, Isla de la Juventud, is studied. Seven species [Paranaitis speciosa, Hesione picta, Opisthosyllis brunnea, Haplosyllis spongicola, Typosyllis variegata, T. fasciata and Branquiosyllis oculata [error for Branchiosyllis]], five of them belonging to the family Syllidae are described. A key to the present genera of syllids is included together with figures of the principal taxonomic characters.
