Type material Watson et al (2016) state that "note type material not available for loan (Zoologicheskiy Institut RAN, Saint Petersburg, Russia)." It is not clear whether this sentence means the type material is lost, or that it is simply only examinable at the named institute. The latter would be the literal interpretation of the words, but the former seems more likely. [details]

Spelling Currently waiting to verify if Kiseleva (1992) used 'zaika' as the spelling originally as is indicated in Zoological Record. If so then 'zaikai' is an incorrect subsequent spelling. He may have used both spellings, which would be evidence of a lapsus.
