Editor's comment There is as yet no taxonomic work evaluating the raising of H. longibranchiata to full species, but it seems counterintuitive to not do so, given the disjunct separation from northern Atlantic H. tubicola, and the species described present in intervening seas. Recent works on the biology and genetics of H. longibranciata have treated it as a full species [details]
