Naxotia n. g. is introduced for evolute quinqueloculine forms, with 5 chambers visible externally, tests with greasy luster and necked circular aperture with two teeth. Quinqueloculina adelaidensis HOWCHIN & PARR 1938 has been chosen as genotype. Representatives of the only known species of this genus have been also found in several shallow-water marine sediments of the Mediterranean and Red Sea coasts of Egypt.
