Additions are made to the description of Syllides articulosa, S. convoluta, S. japonica, and S. longocirrata. Syllides fulva and S. verrilli are recognized as valid species, and Syllides benedicti is newly described. Several new records are given. The overlapping of characters of Syllides and Pionosyllis is pointed out. Possibly, the insertion of the blades of the compound setae may prove to be a reliable character in differentiating the two genera.
