The Reference Collection at PMBC harbours a substantial collection of sipunculans. I describe and illustrate assorted Thai specimens from the collection in this paper. Identification of most sipunculan species requires dissection followed by qualitative and quantitative estimates of characters in order to judge the taxonomic status. A summary of characters to be observed before and after the necessary dissection are listed and illustrated in alphabetical order. I describe Sipunculus gulfus n. sp., Sipunculus robustus Keferstein, 1865, Sipunculus thailandicus n. sp., Xenosiphon andamanense n. sp., Xenosiphon porticus n. sp., Siphonosoma (Dasmosiphon) yonense n. sp., Siphonosoma (Hesperosiphon) rokense n. sp., Siphonosoma (Siphonosoma) hamuphorum n. sp., Siphonosoma (Siphonosoma) surinense n. sp., Aspidosiphon (Akrikoides) quadratoides n. sg., n. sp., Cloeosiphon aspergillus (Quatrefages, 1865). I have applied the concept of morphospecies after comparison with the first revision of sipunculans by Stephen and Edmonds and the second revision by Cutler. I have compared with morphological criteria described by these authors. I discuss the troublesome identification of sipunculans and my reflexions before naming the new species. Key words: reference collection, PMBC, characters, before and after dissection, morphospecies
