Peloscolex pescei Dumnicka, species from the Italian wells, was described precisely and its systematic position was determined. The construction of genital organs shows that the described specimens belong to the new genus named Frearidrilus. A characteristic of this genus and a comparison with allied genera are made. [ creation of Frearidrilus Dumnicka, 1987, monotypic for F. pescei (Dumnicka, 1980), now in Tubifex ]
