A new species of heteronemertine, Micrura pleuropolia n. sp., is described and illustrated. The species is characterized by, inter alia, a proboscis with two muscle layers and proboscis barbs, cerebral canals opening into a papilla and the dermis not separated from the outer longitudinal muscle layer by a zone of connective tissue. The material was collected in New Zealand.
