Taxonomy Sørensen et al. (2005) [Ref.17581] reevaluated the generic classification of Seison africanus sp. nov., S. nebaliae, based on similarities in trophi structure and, accordingly, an assumed feeding mode and relationship with their hosts. Based on fundamental differences between the commensal sister taxa and the ectoparasitic S. annulatus, they proposed to reestablish the genus Paraseison Plate, 1887 in order to accommodate P. annulatus (Claus, 1876) (comb. nov.). [details]
