Pumiliopes scombri Izawa, 2021 is redescribed based on specimens of both sexes recovered from the bucco-branchial cavity of the chub mackerel, Scomber japonicus Houttuyn, 1782 (Scombri- formes, Scombridae), in Japan. The male of the species is described for the ?rst time. The description of the male is also the ?rst time for the genus. This genus is unique in having an antenna that is sex- ually dimorphic.
