A new species of the genus Micronereis found near the Sea of Okhotsk coast of the Simushir island (Kurile Islands) is described. The genus is first registered for the fauna of the USSR. M. ochotensis sp. n. differs from the other species of the genus by larger ''palps'', position, form and number of paragnaths. A comparative table of morphological characters of the Micronereis species is given. A support is given to the viewpoint (Banse, 1977) that the genera Micronereis and Quadricirra represent an independent group forming the subfamily Notophycinae within the family Nereidae.
