A new species and a new subspecies of spioniform polychaetous annelids have been added to the fauna of central California. Polydora narica is a generalized member of the "ciliata" group and shows affinities with several other polydorid species complexes, as well. Pseudopolydora kempi californica constitutes a second locality record for Pseudopolydora kempi (Southern) in the eastern Pacific. It is much more closely related to the Indian than to the Japanese subspecies.
