Habitat Globigerina-ooze, at bathyal depths. According to McIntosh in Jeffreys (1876: 219), concerning Tachytrypane jeffreysi and Tachytrypane arctica: "Both species had the intestinal canal filled with fine Globigerina-mud; so that in all probability they live in this easily penetrated medium, after the manner of their congeners in the sand."
