Nomenclature Jenkin described two families (Chiphoridae and Staurorrhaphidae) whose names were not based on genus names, as is required (ICZN Art. 29.1), making them unavailable. The present family is a junior synonym of Sycettidae as both genera (Streptoconus and Hypodictyon) considered to belong in Chiphoridae by Jenkin were transferred to Sycettidae by Brøndsted, 1931. [details]
