Spelling Lindgren (1897) spelled the species name as pulvinatae, the meaning of which is puzzling (see comment in Van Soest, 1982: 90). In the follow up definitive paper Lindgren (1898) spelled the name as pulvinatus (see also Burton, 1934: 541-542), which implied that the species name is an adjective. This in turn causes the name to be a case of violating the rule that the species name would need to march the gender of the genus name. Accordingly we changed the species name to pulvinata. [details]
